Ride the River Channel!
One of Penticton’s unique summer pastimes is to float down the River Channel. Visitors are invited to rent inner tubes and rafts and take a leisurely ride down the 7 kilometre long Channel to Skaha Lake.
The River Channel is located between Okanagan Lake and Skaha Lake. The float starts at the Coyote Cruises launch site at 215 Riverside Drive. If you need floating tubes and a ride back to your vehicle Coyote Cruises will provide both. Depending on the current weather conditions it can take 1-2 hours to float to the exit at Green Mountain Road or 3-4 hours to Skaha Lake Hwy 97 exit.
In 2004, the Penticton Indian Band purchased Coyote Cruises and carried out its first year of operation as a native owned business in the summer of 2005. In January 2005 Chief & Council reorganized its corporate structure and formed the Penticton Indian Band Economic Development Corporation.
